Earth Hour Lights Out on March 29 2008

Started by the World Wildlife Foundation to make a statement about climate change, organizers of Earth Hour the world over invite people to turn off their lights for one hour – from 8:00pm to 9:00pm in their local time zone on Saturday, March 29, 2008. Cities around the world, including Atlanta, Chicago, Phoenix and San Francisco and Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver will hold events to acknowledge their commitment to energy conservation. Canada has one of the highest participation rates around the globe with over 150 cities participating!

Google users in the United States will notice a black backgroun that Google created on the Google.com homepage as a gesture to raise awareness of a worldwide energy conservation effort called Earth Hour.
